Atlanta Chinese Christian Church - Rebranding

This project is to create a new and modern visual identity and website for a Chinese church with a history of more than 70 years and to lower the threshold for non-believers to use it. This project reduces the usage of religious vocabulary. The optimized church website is also easier to understand for non-believers.

Problem:

  • The existing website was functional to a certain extent, but it did not highlight the image of the church.

  • For people who are new to faith, the information and vocabulary on church websites are too religious, making it difficult to obtain the corresponding information.

  • Difficult to catch the audience’s attention.

Strategy:

  • Use geometric shapes to provide a modern design element.

  • Try to use simple words when introducing the church, and introduce the church as you would introduce a friend.

TYPOGRAPHY

During the research, I communicated with the designer in charge of the church website. He wanted to present a modern, non-classical church image, so I chose Ramabhadra, and at the same time referred to the font used in the Bible and chose the font of Lusitana.
